EXTRA HELP NEEDED FOR LANE COUNTY’S ROAD MAINTENANCE DIVISION

Positions Start at $17.34 per hour.
About the Position
Lane County Public Works seeks extra help employees for its Road Maintenance Division. Successful candidates perform general manual labor and flagging work on Public Works road crews. Start Dates are staggered, with jobs starting in May, June, and July.
No previous work experience is necessary, as training will be provided.
Applicants must be 18 or older at time of hire and possess a valid Oregon Driver's License at time of hire.
Successful applicants will be asked to pass a pre-employment drug test before beginning work.
The Department will review the driving records for all successful applicants before they begin work.
Schedule: These positions work Monday - Thursday, from 6:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
About the Division
The Road Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the County transportation system including some state highways and city streets under contract with Lane County. Although the majority of equipment and employees in Road Maintenance are based at the Delta Complex, satellite shops are located near Cottage Grove, Dexter, Veneta, and Florence. A crew and equipment are assigned to each Road Maintenance Zone. The Bridge Projects Crew, Sign Shop, and Vegetation Crew are headquartered at Delta and work throughout the County.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Overtime required per operational needs.

*Extra Help employees may work up to a maximum of 520 hours per fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023.
Requirements:
DRIVER’S LICENSE - Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.
Offers of employment are contingent upon consenting to and successfully passing a drug screening test; negative results are reimbursable.
