Town hall meeting

Calendar Date:
Monday, September 27, 2021 - 5:00pm

Town hall meeting on library and city hall construction projects.

City Council, staff, and our architect have created two  design options for a new library and city hall. The new library and city hall will be combined in the building located at 70 N. Pioneer Street—the building with the “Maggie Osgood Library” sign in the front.

Each design comes with benefits and obstacles and different costs. Regardless of which option we select, the City will need to finance the project with a loan. We are proposing to service the loan through a capital improvements fee. The capital improvements fee would show up as a new, separate fee on your monthly utility bill.

The City will have a town hall at 70 N. Pioneer Street on Monday, September 27. A presentation is scheduled at 6:00 pm, and information about the project will be open for viewing at 5:00 pm. The purpose of the town hall is for the City Council and staff to discuss the project in more detail with you. We will also have a public comment period for you to voice your opinion.

City Council will use your feedback from the survey and town hall to inform their final decision on an option.

You can contact City Hall with any questions by calling (541) 937-2157 or by email at: info@ci.lowell.or.us.
